The website www.horseridingchile.com was started in order to help poor arrieros of the central cordillera of the Andes, living near Santiago in the Cajon del Maipo. These men are used as guides by local tourist businesses and earn a pittance for their invaluable work. We are an English family living in the Cajon, with many years of riding experience and much of it in Chile. We manage the administration, answer emails and make arrangements, but the local men receive the money, all except for basic costs like the lunch supplied and transport from Santiago.

They are men who have worked all their lives in the cordillera, the mountains of the Andes, and can provide a safe and fascinating ride in these incredible surroundings, giving  an ‘authentic’ experience.
